Not withstanding this success Macnovate struggled to keep up with the ever-changing environment, disconnected people and systems. From emails, meetings, notes, phone calls and word of mouth coupled with cultures and languages the communication channels were hectic. Our go to tool to manage this hectic environment was the humble spread sheet and same stretched from London to New York trying to manage all the information and constant flow of update questions. Further this soaked up our resources updating, collating, and re-updating information, data and results to feed the various siloed stakeholders. We knew something was going to give, the risks were too high and sooner rather than later something would go wrong. We embarked on a global journey to find a software that would meet our requirements. We found many that did some of what we wanted or claimed to, but none that did the full A-Z of our requirements. So, the Macnovate team did what they do best, they innovated, the eureka moment came when someone said Fedex, “what Fedex”, “yes Fedex” they ship packages all over the world and check them in at each important touch point allowing their customers to track the progress, we can do the same with project. Hence Macmarts was born, the results of this initiative were phenomenal, we were blown away, within weeks 80% of the “inform me” communication traffic vanished into the digital stratosphere. We had begone the journey of the democratization of information, knowledge, and data, driving the need-to-know information directly to desks of users and stakeholders. Unbeknown to us we were in fact early adopters of industry 4.0, front runners in the digital transformation era. Since then, Macmarts has grown and developed into a fully-fledged SaaS Business Operational Excellence Software, Empowering: Engineers, Project Managers, Procurement, Finance and accountable Stakeholders. The focus of Macmarts are the key drivers of any successful business this is: the optimisation of resources & budgets (Time & Money) and the utilisation of the knowledge & data used for same.
